RISING COST OF OPERATIONS

        
The CranioFacial Foundation is SEC and BIR registered. Today, the cost of an uncomplicated cleft lip operation is anywhere from P40,000 to P50,000. Cleft palate usually needs 2 operations; P60,000 to P70,000 / case.

We provide speech therapy sessions that is affiliated with University of Santo Tomas (UST) College of Rehabilitation Sciences, Dept. of Speech Language Pathology.

Our Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery Department is composed of volunteer trained OMS which handles cases like Fused TMJ surgeries, Alveolar Bone Grafting, Orthognathic Surgeries and other special cases in OMS. The CFFP Center also handles special cases like Meningocele with cost ranging from P80,000 to P150,000 per case. If they have hydrocephalus, they will need a shunt before the excision. Shunts are expensive – P15,000 to P35,000 each depending on the shunt used. The surgery for inserting the shunt costs from P25,000 to P40,000. All these are amounts paid to the hospitals where the operation is done. The medical staff and volunteers provide their services for free to the Foundation.

Our team also goes on outreach missions to far flung areas in the Philippines in order to reach those who cannot come to us. The team of plastic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, dentists, OMS and speech therapist numbering at least 15 to 20 people depending on the patients registered. We bring all the necessary equipments and medicines needed for the mission. We conduct weekly in-house surgeries and at least 1 outreach missions per month.

We already have arrangements with local NGO's that prepare the patients for surgery and communicate with us about the number of patients and dates.
